Configure general property settings

In Whale Admin, you will configure the below settings for each property:


Property Name

This is what Whale calls the property when messaging renters and not using the specific unit address (e.g. Pine Meadows Apartments).


Property Email

This is where Whale sends important notifications, such as overdue deposits and move-out reminders. Please choose a shared inbox that won't change often as employees turnover.

IMPORTANT: Add notify@gowhale.com to your company's safe-sender list so emails reach your inbox. Please action on all emails as quickly as possible to avoid deposit delays.

Property Logo (optional)

The property logo will be used for renter-facing communications with Whale. For best results, we recommend using a photo with a white background. It will be cropped as a circle.


Bank Info

Move-out charges will be sent to the account provided. Account name, routing number, account number, and account type (checking or savings) are required. Only admins can add/edit bank info.


Deposit Request Timing

Configure when security deposit requests are sent to the renter. Learn more here.


Delay Deposit Return

Enable/disable functionality that delays returning a renter's deposit until the last possible day before the state imposed deadline. This allows for any final adjustments before the deposit is unlocked.
