Auto-collect increased deposits
For properties with an Entrata or Yardi integration, Whale can automatically collect additional deposit funds due based on the property’s configuration and changes to monthly rent.
To enable Auto-Collect increased Deposits, toggle on the setting on the property info configuration page.
When enabled, Whale will automatically request additional funds if...
- The renter's deposit is calculated using a multiple of monthly rent, not a fixed amount.
- The tenant’s monthly rent increases, causing the security deposit amount held to be < the amount required.
Example
Jim has renewed his lease at Bay Village for an additional $75/month. Since the property has configured its standard deposit amount to be 1x monthly rent, Whale will immediately request an additional $75 from Jim so his total deposit amount = 1x his new monthly rent.
