What information does Whale require from renters?

Opening a Whale account is similar to opening any other bank account except Whale makes it lightning fast by pre-filling much of the required information from our PMS integration. It takes 1-2 minutes to open a Whale account.

Whale will send an invite to open their account as soon as a deposit request is triggered.

Renters must provide the following to open an account:

• Full legal name
• Email address
• Date of Birth
• Phone number
• Employment status
• Tax ID (SSN or ITIN) to verify their identity

If we’re unable to verify their identity with the information provided, we may require a government issued ID and/or upload of their Tax ID document via our identity verification platform, Footprint.
