Cancel deposit request

Automatic deposit cancellations

For customers with a PMS integration, Whale monitors to see if a deposit was paid directly to the property. If so, Whale automatically cancels all unpaid deposit requests automatically.

Whale can also monitor to see if the tenant chose a deposit alternative or a guarantor and automatically cancel the Whale deposit request as well. Reach out to launch@gowhale.com to learn more.

Manually cancel a deposit

If you want to cancel a deposit request for any reason, here's how in the Whale Portal. Note, you must have Admin or Editor level permissions to cancel a deposit request.

  1. Log in to Whale Portal
  2. Navigate to “Deposits” to find the specific lease.
  3. Click into the lease to see all deposits
  4. Click the “···” menu, select “Cancel Deposit”, enter the Cancelation Reason and click “Confirm”.

Once canceled, Whale will no longer attempt to collect the deposit.
