How move-ins work

Entrata, Yardi, Appfolio, and RealPage integrations:

1. Whale automatically requests the deposit as soon as the lease becomes eligible for a deposit request (see “When Whale requests deposits”).
2. The deposit amount requested is determined by the tenant’s screening result and the property’s standard and conditional deposit settings.
3. Renter opens and funds their Whale account. The deposit is immediately locked for the duration of the lease. 
4. Whale confirms receipt directly in the PMS. Make sure to confirm the deposit has been secured before handing over the keys. (see “Confirming when deposit is secured”)

Manual integrations:

1. Log into Whale Admin and click the “+” button to add a new move-in.
2. Enter the renter’s information, lease start date, and deposit amount.
3. Whale immediately sends a deposit request to the renter. 
4. Renter opens and funds their Whale account. The deposit is immediately locked for the duration of the lease. 
5. Property confirms the deposit has been Locked in Whale Admin.
