Renter paid property instead of Whale

If a renter chose to pay their deposit directly to the property instead of using Whale when moving in, we can help transfer those funds to the renter's Whale account. Here's how:

  1. Send the renter's information (Name, Email, Unit Address, and Deposit Amount Paid) to support@gowhale.com.
  2. Whale will update their deposit request from a new move-in to a "flip" (meaning they've already paid the property and we'll work to move the funds).
  3. Renter will receive a request to open their Whale account with no balance owed.
  4. Once they open their account, Whale will send a notification to the property to transfer the funds.

IMPORTANT: WIRE FRAUD WARNING - READ CAREFULLY BEFORE TRANSFERRING FUNDS

Please be aware that there is an increasing risk of wire fraud and business email compromise schemes. Fraudsters often attempt to impersonate legitimate parties by sending fake emails with altered wiring instructions.

To protect your funds, we have implemented the following process:

  • Never reply to any email to verify or request transfer instructions.
  • Only use the bank transfer instructions provided on our official website to send funds.
  • Always confirm you're on our official site by checking to make sure the URL starts with "https://www.gowhale.com".
  • Report any suspicious behavior to security@gowhale.com

Please note our transfer instructions are NEVER sent directly in an email. They are hosted on a secure page on our official website. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE STEPS MAY RESULT IN THE LOSS OF YOUR FUNDS.
