Lease renewals

Here's how Whale handles lease renewals:

Resident has locked Whale deposit

Whale keeps the deposit locked. Whale only returns the deposit if you complete the financial move-out statement (also known as deposit accounting). 

If the property has enabled Renewals Auto-Collect, Whale may request additional funds for their deposit if their deposit is based on a multiple of monthly rent and monthly rent changes.

Resident does not have a Whale deposit

If the lease renews, Whale will not automatically request a deposit since it's not a new move-in. If you'd like to move their deposit to Whale, please contact support@gowhale.com.
