What payment methods does Whale accept?
Whale only accepts the payment methods listed below. Specific instructions are provided to the renter after they select a method when logged into Whale.
ACH Bank Transfer (via Plaid)
Cost: Free Speed: 2-4 Business Days
Whale allows renters to link their bank account using Plaid so they can transfer funds directly from their existing bank to Whale.
When possible, before initiating the transfer, Whale will check the renter's account balance to ensure they have sufficient funds to cover their deposit. However, the renter must keep enough funds available in their account until the transfer completes to avoid the transfer being returned and incurring a $25 fee.
Zelle
Cost: Free Speed: Minutes
Renters can use Zelle to send a deposit payment to Whale. Renters can check if their bank supports Zelle transfers here.
MoneyGram
Cost: Free* Speed: Minutes
MoneyGram is a great option for renters who want to pay their deposit with cash. Renters can send a MoneyGram to Whale by visiting a MoneyGram location or using their website.
Wire Transfer
Cost: Free* Speed: 1-5 business days
Whale accepts both domestic and international wire transfers.
Venmo
Cost: 2.25% of transfer amount Speed: Same Day
Renters can use your Venmo account to send funds to Whale. The fees charged by Whale cover our costs to accept funds as a business on Venmo.
*Although Whale does not charge a fee, your are responsible for any service fees charged by the service provider to send funds.
